Terms & Conditions for Attending the Curious2022 Future Insight™ Conference
1. Organizer, Scope
Organizer of the conference is Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany („Organizer“ or „we”). Participation in the conference is governed exclusively by these Terms & Conditions for Attending the Curious2022 Future Insight™ Conference (“Terms”). The attendee’s Terms and Conditions of Participation shall not become part of the contract, even if the Organizer does not expressly object to them.
2. Participation
Attendance at the conference will be restricted to those attendees (“Attendee” or “you”) registering via the registration process provided on this website.
By completing the registration process and attending the conference, the Attendee declares his express consent to these Terms.
The parties mutually acknowledge and agree that all or parts of the conference may take place during the COVID pandemic. For the avoidance of doubt, the parties agree that Governmental Orders issued at short notice may constitute an obstacle to the preparation, follow-up or realization of the conference even if they are locally limited,
(i) but if they are relevant for the realization of the conference (e.g. Governmental Order concerning the venue)
(ii) or preparation or follow-up of the conference (e.g. the Governmental Order concerns the location of Organizer from which the conference is planned)
(iii) or travel to or from the conference is considerably more difficult for a significant number of the participants (e.g. Governmental Order leads to considerable operational restrictions at the airport).
If the conference cannot be carried out as a result of a Governmental Order, which includes or is expected to include the period of the conference date, or if travel to the conference location is not possible or not reasonable for a significant proportion of the participants (e.g. travel ban, travel warning, quarantine obligation upon arrival or return), the parties shall immediately inform each other. Company may replace the conference with a partially on-site, partially digital or completely digital alternative and or reschedule the conference.
Regardless of this Organizer shall have an extraordinary termination right for the conference affected by Force Majeure if Force Majeure continues for at least four (4) weeks within a period of two months before the agreed conference date.
The foregoing shall also apply if a Governmental Order affects a period of time so close to the conference date to cause uncertainty about the realizability of the conference and / or prevents the parties from taking the necessary preparatory or follow-up actions for the conference.
Pandemic Testing. We reserve the right to implement on-site pandemic testing (e.g. Covid-19) of all Attendees (e.g. by way of an antigen test) before allowing access to the conference facilities. In case of a positive test result, access to the conference will not be allowed. Alternatively, Attendees shall (i) provide a negative test result of a qualified institution or organization not older than 48 hours or (ii) provide a medical certification that the Attendee has built sufficient anti-bodies.
In case of a positive test result, access to the conference will not be allowed to the positive tested Attendee and his/her ticket will be automatically transferred to allow virtual access to the conference.
